JESSE PAUL WARRENFounder & Executive Director
Jesse’s background spans the fields of creativity and governance, including work as a music producer, designer, campaign staffer, and on Capitol Hill. Frustrated by the lack of creative thinking he saw in government and politics, He formed Democracy Creative in 2019 to bring these two realms together.
TEVAN GOLDBERGAssistant Director
Tevan is a Burlington-based musician, teacher and writer who joined Democracy Creative in March 2022. He is a firm believer in the power of convivial gathering places to stimulate a truly democratic culture. In addition to helping with the day-to-day here, he convenes the Thursday Thoughtclub.

CHLOE TOMLINSONPresident / Founding Board Member
Chloe brings nearly a decade of experience applying creative thinking to solve social and political problems, including at Front Porch Forum, one of Vermont’s leading civic-tech firms, and at the United Nations Children’s Fund as a design thinking facilitator.
EMILIE KRASNOWVice President / Founding Board Member
Emilie is a native Vermonter and works professionally as an Electoral and Public Policy strategist. Previously, she worked at the Vermont State House as an assistant in the Senate, and in the Lieutenant Governor’s office. She serves on the ASPIRE, South Burlington Library Foundation Volunteer Committee, and the South Burlington Housing Trust Committee.
CECILE NEIDIGSecretary / Founding Board Member
Cecile is an experienced campaign operative. Her background includes work on numerous political and policy campaigns, as well as at The Soze Agency, a leading design firm focused on values-based movements for change.

KIAH MORRISAdvisor / Founding Board Member
Kiah Morris is an artist and activist. Originally from Chicago, Kiah Morris lives in Vermont, where she served in the general assembly as a State Representative from 2014-2018. She is the first African-American and person of color elected from Bennington County and the second African-American woman to be elected to the legislature in Vermont history.
Lisa Gerlach has a breadth of experience in the worlds of policy, politics, and governance, including serving as Iowa State Advance Director in the Bernie 2020 campaign.
Steve Conant is a pillar of the Burlington and Vermont community. He is the founder of Conant Metal & Light, and owner of The Soda Plant — a basecamp for small businesses, artists, and more. Steve offered Democracy Creative free space in the Soda Plant to launch Democracy Creative in January of 2020, when the organization was first starting, and he has worked with Democracy Creative since then to keep the doors open through COVID and other challenges.
